We'll be announcing a new speaker every week, here's what you've missed so far:

Lisa Saad - Commercial Photographer extrodinaire

Lisa Saad has won more awards than she knows what to do with including AIPP Professional Photographer of the Year. She runs a highly successful commercial photography business from her studio in Melbourne, and mentors a number of other photographers. She is particularly renowned for her Anonymous Man series that provokes the question, "is that a photo or is that an illustration?". She'll be talking about how she produces images like this (above), how she uses strobes in her studio work and will be leading a couple of photo walks. We are excited!

Craig Wetjen - Award Winning Photographer, NASA star, and all round good bloke

Craig Wetjen is a professional photographic artist and author with 30 years experience. He began his career at the age of 16 as a photojournalist photographing for the local Newspapers in the tiny state of Connecticut USA. Moving to Santa Barbara Ca. where he received his Bachelors degree in Photography. His career highlights are shooing for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratories documenting the Mars Pathfinder and Cassini projects. He moved to Australia 21 years ago to play a pivotal role in establishing Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) digital imaging photography course. He has gone on to become a national and international award-winning photographer, and has self published two books of images of man’s best friend and their owner. He is now sharing his wealth of knowledge, passion and creativity teaching photography.

However, the journey his photography now takes him on is far more personal. He has initiated the Men’s Shed Photography Project in 2010. Its aim is to increase awareness of men’s health issues—mental and physical—by documenting how the iconic backyard shed is a space not only for fixing things but also the men inside them. Most of the men captured in these images struggled to articulate what their sheds mean to them. In these cases images can speak more powerfully than words. The Project has now been published and titled ‘Men and Their Sheds’.

Craig will be leading a couple of brilliant workshops showing how he approaches his environmental portraits. Come and join him as he sets up and shoots the a traditional blacksmiths workshop at the High Country Forge and a custom car workshop at Marty's Garage.
